Geosense offers a wide range of data collection and associated data processing services.

Flying

Geosense operates a fleet of survey cameras which can meet your requirements for the capture of aerial photography from large-format digital survey cameras such as the Ultracam or the A3 to medium-format digital cameras such as the Hasselblaad. Geosense can also capture Near Infrared and Thermal imagery as required.

In 1998 the City Of Cape Town carried out the first colour mapping of the entire city. The process, from start to finish, took almost a year to complete but the product was an immediate success. Prior to this, selective panchromatic areas of the city had been mapped but were not easily accessible as viewing software and data storage facilities were not readily available........

Satellite Data

We can supply data from most of the world’s remote sensing satellites (including LandSat, Spot, Ikonos and Radarsat).

Scanning

A photogrammetric scanner (Vexcel Ultrascan 5000) can be used to scan historic or new negatives from surveys using film (analogue) cameras.

GPS Collection

We operate a high specification GPS station and undertake GPS collection both for our own flying program and for third parties.

Orthorectification and Photogrammetry

Geosense is part of the Getmapping Group of companies, and manages the orthoprocessing for all the Group's photography from offices based in South Africa.

This service is available to third parties. In addition to orthorectification, Geosense undertakes specialist photogrammetry projects for clients, usually but not always using Getmapping’s archive of stereo data.

Historical Photography

We offer a unique ‘search and process’ service to locate historical photography of an area of interest and to process it so that it can be compared to modern photography. This service has wide applications in areas such as contaminated land, boundary disputes and the protection of archaeological sites.
