In recent years the advent of new sources of height data available at different accuracies and price bands has meant huge choice for professionals.

Geosense can provide a range of height data derived from aerial photography, LiDAR or IFSAR systems.

LiDAR has always been the most accurate alternative to land survey but it is quite expensive to acquire and tends to get used only where high accuracy is really important. Aerial photography can provide a more cost effective alternative to LiDAR, without compromising on accuracy, while IFSAR provides a low cost, medium accuracy solution for large area survey.

In the early 2000s Intermap captured the whole of the Europe using its own Radar technology. The groundbreaking survey for the first time provided a viable up to date alternative to older height data products from the national mapping agency.
