Precision Farming

Geosense has been assisting farmers in the Western Cape by providing Infrared imagery of their farms. Infrared imagery can be used to assess crop vigor and identify areas needing additional management (either due to poor soil or drainage issues).

As an example, Geosense regularly fly the Wineland regions of the Western Cape in mid-January to provide Vineyards with information on the strength of their grapes prior to harvest. This information can then be used to identify the best grapes to harvest for their premium wines, and areas needing further work between seasons to improve drainage and soil conditions.
